Beach Energy is an oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia. Formed in 1961 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 1962, Beach Energy has over 20 production facilities in the resource-rich Cooper and Eromanga Basins. The production facilities are connected by a pipeline network to an oil hub, which transports oil to the Moomba Processing Plant. Beach Energy is Australia’s largest onshore oil producer, and has also established a major gas business. Oil and gas facilities and pipelines are operated on behalf of joint ventures Cooper Energy, Drillsearch Energy and Senex Energy.

Getting Started with MEX
To ensure competency of Beach Energy’s operator maintainers in the use of MEX, MEX trainer Damian Silvester was sent to the Cooper Basin to ensure all four shifts were instructed in how to use the new system. The free flow of problem solving ideas in these sessions were invaluable, demonstrating various ways to complete tasks, and allowing our users to determine the most suitable approach.
How do you use the MEX System?
MEX is used by trained operations staff to ensure equipment is serviced to industry best practice and operational requirements are completed in an auditable manner. This ensures regulatory compliance can be verified both in the field and from the head office in Adelaide.
Our operators use the MEX iOS App on their iPads to record results of inspections, take photos and raise work orders for issues arising from inspections, thus capturing the complete work flow. MEX Inspections has given us a quick and effective process for ensuring that all of our equipment is maintained at the highest standard possible and that any uncovered equipment issues are resolved as soon as possible.
